Hand Bell Choir
The Hand Bell Choir at All Saints is a jubilant group of mixed-age ringers. The group enjoys performing a varied repertoire of music and always welcomes new ringers and those who are interested in learning to play the bells.
Rehearsal and Worship Service Schedule
The Hand Bell Choir rehearses from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m., Wednesday evenings, every week, from Labor Day to Pentecost (September through May), in the sanctuary. During the season of Lent, the bells rehearse from 6 to 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday evenings.
The choir prepares an anthem for one worship service a month during the choir season. The time varies weekly based on the worship schedule. The Hand Bell Choir also prepares music for 5 p.m. Christmas Eve service.
Outreach and News
The Hand Bell Choir visited the Columbus Montessori Education Center last fall to lead an assembly on hand bell ringing for children aged 3 to 6 years (CHP). They prepared a series of age-appropriate songs and displayed different hand bell ringing techniques. Some children even got to try out some bell ringing for themselves.
Director Lauren Grangaard also presented hand bells and their techniques to the students at All Saints Preschool in the spring.
