Weddings at All Saints

“But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”

— Mark 10:6-8

As both a gift from God and a human estate, marriage is celebrated at All Saints through a worship service and a gathering of the community of faith. In addition to working with the pastors, couples can rely on the support and guidance of a wedding coordinator as they plan their wedding service.

The Sanctuary
Size: The sanctuary comfortably seats 350, with a maximum seating capacity of 444. The center aisle is 55 feet, slate and has a slope. For safety reasons, aisle runners are not permitted.

Décor: Flower arrangements may be used on the altar or stands provided by a florist. The liturgical colors of the season will remain on the altar, pulpit and lectern. Altar furnishings may not be removed or moved.

Scheduling
Members may schedule a wedding at any time the Sanctuary is available. Non-members wishing to be married in the church may reserve a date six months or less in advance of the wedding. No more than two weddings may be scheduled on the same day.

For more information, to schedule a wedding or to obtain an All Saints Wedding Guide, contact Arlene Belter.

Fees
Couples will have use of the sanctuary and narthex for three hours on their wedding day — 1½ hours before the service and 1½ hours from the start of service. Additional rooms for the bridal party will be reserved as needed.

Wedding fee: $700. Due six months prior to the wedding. (Waived for All Saints members.)

Additional fees: The church collects a total of $550 to cover marriage preparation and the services of a wedding coordinator, organist, sound technician and custodian.

Honoraria
Customary gifts — ranging from $150 to $250 for pastors and from $40 to $75 for professional soloists or musicians — are given directly to the recipients.

Marriage Preparation
While marriage is a joyous estate, it is not without its pressures and challenges. Couples will work with the pastor performing their ceremony to focus on their unique relationship. The pastors also will help couples register for either or both of All Saints two marriage-preparation programs, ENGAGE! and Saving Your Marriage Before it Starts.

  • ENGAGE!: A mentoring couple will guide participants through a day aimed at examining models of and skills for successful marriage. The all-day Sunday event begins by attending 11 a.m. worship at All Saints and continues at an off-site facility.
  • Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts: This program encourages couples to explore tough questions relating to marriage myths, communication and fighting a “good fight.”

Receptions
All Saints Parish Hall can accommodate receptions for as many as 150 guests. Couples should talk to their wedding coordinator about the details and scheduling.
