Saints in Stride
Running out of excuses for being out of shape? Here goes another: All Saints has a running and walking group that will improve your health and give you opportunties for fellowship.
Who can join: Anyone and everyone. Age does not matter, current physical condition does not matter, and it does not matter if you want to train for a full marathon (26.2 miles) or simply walk a 5k (3.1 miles) to "get in better shape to keep up with the kids/grandkids."
From coordinator Matt Eakin
After taking a week off to recover from the May 7 Cap City Marathon, I am going to begin a "break-in" of four to six weeks for anyone who is interested in tackling a Full Marathon in the fall. The long runs on Saturday are going to be doing four- to six-mile runs. This will keep your legs fresh so when you start Hal Higdon's Novice 1 Schedule in mid-June, you will be ready. If you are only interested in doing a Half this fall, that's fine. Saints in Stride training will start in late June. Let me know at aslc@saintsonhigh.org if intested.
And remember, Saints in Stride isn't just for All Saints members. All are welcome. So feel free to bring friends. The more the merrier ...
Coming up
Saints in Stride will participate in the Nationwide Better Health Columbus Full and Half Marathon, the Columbus Wellness 5k and the Youth Red Nose Run on Sunday, Oct. 16.
Training will start in middle or late June, following Hal Hidgon's schedules (visit www.halhigdon.com. An eight-week 5K schedule also will be available. Contact Matt Eakin through aslc@saintsonhigh.org.
