Pastor Glenn Zorb accepts Arizona call
On March 31, Congregation Council accepted
the resignation of Pastor Glenn M. Zorb, whose warmth, humor, caring nature
and theological insights have been blessings
to All Saints over the past decade. Pastor
Glenn, whose last Sunday preaching at
All Saints was May 11, has accepted
a call to serve as senior pastor at
Mountain View Lutheran Church in Phoenix.
Pastor Glenn; his wife, Sue, and their children Brian and Julie have been a part of our family, and as always when a family member moves on to new opportunities, the All Saints’ community greets this news with mixed emotions. Our sorrow at saying goodbye combines with our certain hope that God’s plan will reveal itself in wonderful ways in both Worthington and Phoenix.
All Saints is fortunate to have two strong ordained leaders – Pastor Bonnie Gerber and Pastor Mike Weaver – to help to guide us during what will doubtless be a painful time for the congregation. Congregation Council will work prayerfully with all three pastors to ensure a smooth transition period.
In Hebrews 13:7, Paul reminds us to remember our leaders and to imitate their faith. Pastor Glenn arrived at a difficult time of transition for All Saints, taking on a leadership role in a congregation still reeling from the unexpected death of the much-loved Pastor David Ullery. Pastor Glenn handled those early days and all that came after with grace and unfailing belief that God had great things in mind for our congregation. So while we acknowledge our deep sense of loss, we also recall Pastor Glenn’s example of optimism and faith.
In the coming weeks, we will have an eye on the future while also celebrating this past 10 years and the great gift God has given us in the opportunity to share them with Pastor Glenn and his family.
A statement from Connie Pierce, president, Congregation Council
As Pastor Zorb prepares to head west, we pray he will find joy and peace in his new call. The 10 years he spent with us were good years, filled with challenges and some soaring successes. We share many good memories with Glenn and his wife, Sue, as we bid them farewell.
During times of transition, it is good to pause and assess our position. We can look at what has gone well and what has not. This is a time to learn and to share our hopes and dreams. In in-between times such as these, we can find springboards to the hope-filled future.
As the leadership of the congregation thinks through this transition, we will carefully consider our next steps and how they will affect our future.
All Saints is a vibrant, healthy congregation. We are blessed with incredibly wise people who look to the future and see opportunity around every corner. We continue to be led by two strong and capable pastors, Bonnie Gerber and Mike Weaver. We have been blessed by Pastor Zorb’s ministry among us. He leaves with our prayers for a happy partnership with the people of Mountain View Lutheran Church in Phoenix.
