Confirmation program

At All Saints, the important goal of preparing young people for the public affirmation of baptism and the assumption of greater responsibility in the Christian community is a joint effort among students, parents and teachers.

Students are required to participate not only in educational programs but also in fellowship and service activities in the three-year program that leads to confirmation. These are elements of the Christian faith and tradition to which Jesus called all disciples and, as such, are integral parts of the All Saints middle school ministry and confirmation preparation.

Learning

Students may choose from two sessions and are required to attend all six classes to fulfill program requirements for a given year. The fall session has concluded for this school year. Students who attended the fall session and missed a class may make it up in spring. The requirements for all three years must be fulfilled before a youth is confirmed.

Spring Session: 4:30-6 p.m. Wednesdays Feb. 6 through March 12

JUMP into Sunday School!

This year’s Sunday School theme is JUMP (Jesus Uses Me to Perform his work).  All Saints offers traditional Sunday School for children ages 3 through 12th graders at 9:30 a.m.. Classes are divided by grade level.

Scout religious recognition award classes

Beginning Sunday, Jan. 6, All Saints’ 9:30 Sunday School curriculum will allow interested Boy and Girl scouts to earn their religious recognition awards, which will be presented on Scout Sunday, March 9.

Sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders will use the eight-week “God and Church” curriculum. All age groups will gather in the sixth-grade classroom from Jan. 6 to Feb. 24.

Monthly Mission

Each month, All Saints Sunday School participants are urged to donate to missions that not only benefit the recipient charity, but also teach our children to live the life that God intended by sharing our gifts with others.

To celebrate Epiphany, Jan. 6, we ask that students bring offerings of baby food and/or diapers to lay at the altar to symbolize the gifts the wise men brought to Jesus on this day and the mission of the church throughout the world. The gifts will benefit the Lutheran Social Services Food Pantry.

Throughout January and February, Sunday School monetary offerings will go toward sponsoring children who wish to become Scouts. The $250 goal would be sponsor one girl and one boy interested in scouting.

Thank you to teachers

All Saints relies on generous volunteers to oversee the education of its young people and wishes to offer a big THANK YOU to those 2007-08 staff who JUMP’d in to help spread God’s love to our middle schoolers.
