About our program

Our Confirmation Program is under way for the 2011-12 school year, and it is our goal to help assist parents as they fulfill the promises they made at their child’s baptism which included:

  • to faithfully bring them to the services of God’s house
  • teach them the Lord’s Prayer, the Creed and the Ten Commandments
  • place in their hands the Holy Scriptures
  • provide for their instruction in the Christian faith…
  • …that living in the covenant of their Baptism and in communion with the Church, they may lead godly lives until the day of Jesus Christ.

Upon completion of the three-year program, individuals will profess their faith in Christ Jesus and will make the following promises:

  • to live among God’s faithful people
  • to hear His Word and share in His supper
  • to proclaim the good news of God in Christ through word and deed
  • to serve all people, following the example of our Lord Jesus
  • to strive for justice and peace on earth.

In order to prepare our youth for their confirmation, we ask the following of them during their sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade years:

Learning:

  • each student attends a six-session grade-level course
  • each student attends Sunday School a minimum of one time per month
  •  each student completes a given number of sermon notes each year

Service:

  • each student serves as acolyte/crucifer on a rotating basis
  • each student performs nine points of service per year. Opportunities for service are varied and held at various times.

Fellowship:

  • each student participates in CLUB 678 activities throughout the year
