Lawrence County projects
All Saints partners with St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ironton on two projects to benefit Ohio's southernmost county. The Appalachian county, of which Ironton serves as the county seat, reports that about a quarter of families with children fall below the federal poverty line.
Tools for Schools 2010
Our 2010 Tools for Schools campaign was again a success!
We partnered with St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ironton, and together distributed 1,627 backpacks filled with school supplies. All Saints contributed 1,000 of those backpacks and 60 hand-painted preschool book bags. In addition, we were able to donate several large cartons of school supplies to Lutheran Social Services for their distribution through the food pantry.
The members of our congregation never cease to amaze me! So many of you contributed school supplies, made monetary donations and donated your time to help make this campaign a success. It took 216 volunteers from All Saints working 626.5 hours to complete this project. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your support and dedication to the children of Lawrence County.
